Description
Cerro San Antonio
If you want to appreciate the magnificent spectacle that Piriapolis offers, like it´s beaches, the port area of the city core, the residences of Punta Colorada, the landscape, and all simultaneously!, You can not leave without going to the Cerro San Antonio.
It has more than 130 meters high, and the softness of its slope can be done on foot. You can move up by car or through the service of chairlifts that bind with the port. The latter possibility is particularly recommended as it provides a nice overview and is a very enjoyable experience.
It is the most emblematic mountain, and owes its name to the modest chapel that has at its summit which honors the patron of ladies looking for love. As is known, the image of the saint was brought especially from Italy.
In turn, this is not the only religious presence there: halfway to the summit you can also find Maris Stella Virgin, protector of fishermen, sailors and navigators.
